Saturday, 8:30-2:00 pm Grace UMW Bazaar Sunday, 8:15 & 10:30 am Morning Worship - All Saints Day Hayrack Ride/Weiner Roast - October 27 Loaves & Fishes are planning a Hayrack Ride and Weiner Roast for Sunday, Oct. 27 at the Miner Farm located on Rt.150 (Bloomington Road) 3.8 miles west of Mattis Avenue (towards Mahomet). We will meet at the church at 4:30 p.m. for those needing a ride or would like to caravan there. It will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. The Loaves & Fishes will provide hotdogs, buns, condiments & drinks. Please bring side dishes to share and lawn chairs, flashlights & warm clothes. Any questions contact, James Wright, 328-4807 or the church office.. The UMW will be selling Butter Braids again this year with Faith UMW.. They have, apple, cherry, cinnamon, cream cheese, maple nut, & raspberry. The cost is $9.00 each or 3 for $25 or 6 for $48. They must have your orders & money by November 4th. There will be someone from the UMW taking orders in the narthex today. Preacher: J. Features of the bazaar include a coffee shop, lunch, gifts, attic treasures, crafts, home-baked goods, plants and "second-time-around" jewelry. Brings some friends! If possible, please bring your items for the bazaar the week of Oct. 27-Nov. 1. This allows time for the items to be priced and displayed. Baked goods and perishable items can be brought early on Saturday, Nov. 2. Do you have any jewelry that you are not wearing anymore? Please consider donating it to the "second-time-around" jewelry booth at the bazaar. Do you have some "attic treasures"? You may have and not even know it. Look around and consider bringing some items you no longer use to the "attic treasures" booth. Baked goods are always popular with everyone. Pies, breads (both yeast and quick) and rolls are very good sellers. Anything you contribute is greatly appreciated. Would you consider sharing some of your plants? People are always eager to try their "green thumb". We hope to see you at the bazaar! Proceeds of the bazaar are used for UMW mission projects. Joys and Concerns from last Sunday Concern from nursery helpers for Carol Brown who has hurt her ankle and is worried it may be broken. Jill King joy for Morgan King & Michael Bullard’s engagement. Janice Roy joy for Joan Newcomb’s birthday and concern for son-in-law’s grandfather, Tuck Routh, who is having surgery on the 25th for an aneurysm near his heart. Georgia Hillery joy for her nephew who had serious surgery & is home. With prayers & the Lord he will be okay. Many thanks for your prayers. Concerns for prayers for Cathy Moeller, who is back in the hospital. Beth Morgan concerns for her aunt’s family dealing with her death after a car accident, and healing for Alena who has been very sick this weekend. Ina Wooldridge joy that a brother, sister, spouses and her having a safe trip to Florida to see older brother, they hadn’t seen for 4 years. Marsha Johnston joy in being able to share the experience of the 20/20 concert at the Assembly Hall last night of the Christian music concert with Kenneth. We praise God for our joys and answered prayers. We continue lifting up those who are still in need of our prayers, those that are recovering from surgery, facing new surgery, and those that are grieving or ill. Bazaar - Saturday, November 2, 8:30am-2pm All Saints Day - Sunday, November 3 Consecration Sunday/Worship Service & Luncheon - Sunday, November 10 Church Council - Tuesday, November 12, 7pm - Note change in date!! Kids Craft Day for Thanksgiving - Saturday, November 16 (3 years-old through 5th grade) Grace Church Conference at Urbana First - Sunday, November 17, 3pm Thanksgiving Service at Grace - Tuesday, November 26, 7pm Youth Group Fall Work Days Fundraiser November 2nd and 9th will be Youth Work Days from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. You can hire the youth to do various odd jobs that you need done for a donation to the UMYF. A woman’s watch has been found in the kitchen. Possibly taken off while doing dishes. If this might be yours, please come to the church office to claim it. Also, a black coat was left in the office last Sunday. It is hanging in the classroom directly across from the office. |
