If you purchased 1/8x4x36 Balsa at Leisure Time Pet & Hobby on 1/31, your receipt & change due was found on the Narthex steps. Please check in the office. On the 2nd & 4th Sundays we will have cards of encouragement to members of our church (who are sick, going through traumatic times, etc.) available for us to sign &/or write notes to them. The cards will be located on a special table in the Narthex. Joys and Concerns from February 9, 2003 9; 9; The Valentines concern for a friend, Cathy Travis - brain surgery & Genelle Ingram. Susan Ferguson joy for being a part of the Scrapping Group & especially for Diane Pittman= s talent in teaching us a new technique yesterday. Terry Morgan joy that the Urbana High School wrestling team finished second at the regional tournament yesterday qualifying nine wrestlers for the sectional tournament next weekend. Julie Smith joy that Makinzi will be 3 on Tuesday and concern for her Grandmother having tests done and in very low spirits. Jill King joy for Morgan & Michael= s safe return & seeing Georgia Leming back in our church family today. Concern for Michael Bullard & Marvin Iffert as they leave for active duty and friend, Bobbie Brault who is having surgery. Chuck & Dorothy Collins joy that Genelle is home from the hospital, but she still needs our prayers. Hubert= s joy having Georgia Leming here & her son and daughter-in-law. She is back in Rantoul. Nancy Bible concern for Shirley Leathers & family for the loss of her husband, Merrill Leathers. Richard King concern for our annual ski trip next weekend & we ask prayers for a safe and wonderful trip. Georgia Hillery & Helen Koss joy & many thanks for all the prayers for my brother, James Hillery. He is home but not able to do much & concern for the family of Dorothy Bell. She passed away Friday night, Feb. 7th. Martha Rosenbery joy for God= s healing touch to her & the beauty of the music here at Grace Church. Concern for her friend, Sabrina - healing of her ankle fracture & direction for life decisions coming up. Patsy Hammond joy that she gets to back to work half days beginning Monday & start practicing bells Monday night. Thanks for all your cards & prayers. Linda Halbach concern & asking for prayers for her niece Tammy who= s in rehab for substance abuse & for her family in Texas. Jen King joy that she will begin full time student teaching tomorrow. So far all is going well, and she is very excited. We praise God for our joys and answered prayers. We continue lifting up those who are still in need of our prayers, those that are recovering from surgery, facing new surgery, and those that are grieving or ill. If you know of someone in our church who is sick or in the hospital, please call the church office 328-1414 and let us know. ************************************************************************** Habitat for Humanity Angel Project The United Methodist Churches of our cluster are working together to build a house at 1202 Beslin. Grace Church= s portion of the $60,500 cost is $4259. Please make a pledge to help us meet our goal. (If each member and friend gave $10, we= d be there!) Another way to contribute is to put loose change in the Habitat Bank in the narthex. And we hope you= ll consider helping on at least one of our 6 designated workdays in the six months between April and September. Just sign the list and we= ll call you to work or fill out a volunteer skills sheet by the Habitat poster in the narthex. Many thanks!
