MID-WEEK LETTER from Grace United Methodist Church

LAST WEEK:

The big news for the past week: Garage Sale preparation. It seems like everyone will be involved by the end of the week- either donating items, working before and during the sale, or attending and purchasing items.

Prior to the sale, Grace will be doing some mission/outreach work. There are two families who are needing to start up new households from scratch.

They will be our guests on Friday to pick up much needed items at no cost.

ALERT for all popcorn lovers! Grace Church is down to its last 40 or so containers of popcorn. This is truly the last of it until the new crop is ready in the fall.

FOOD PANTRY NEEDS: We had the opportunity to serve yet another large family this week- 3 adults, 3 teens (and you know how they can eat!), and 4 children. Once again, the pantry can use anything and everything you care to bring in.

Particular needs include: vegetables, tuna, macaroni and cheese

FINANCIAL UPDATE: To date, we have had:

Income of $73,507 Expenses of $68,703

Thursday, April 26: The Children's ministry team will meet at 6:30. J.O.Y. sharing group will meet at 7:00 in the parlor.

* The Mahomet UMW has invited the women of Grace Church to join them for breakfast on Thursday, May 3, 9:00. Program: "Lessie Bates Davis Neighborhood House." Reservations must be made today. Call Mary Hackl.

Saturday, April 28: * Annual Garage Sale, 8:00 to 2:00.

Saturday evening worship service at 5:30 in the old nursery.

Sunday, April 29: Grace Years worship service at Parkview in Savoy at 2:00.

College-age Bible study at 5:00.

High school youth meet at the church at 6:30.

* Church Council meeting at 7:30 in the Seekers Sunday school room.

Monday, April 30: Growing in Grace rehearsal at 4:00 in the sanctuary.

Tuesday, May 1: Quilters will meet at 6:30.

Angelus hand bell choir will rehearse at 6:30 in the music room.

* Chancel Choir will rehearse at 7:30 in the sanctuary.

Wednesday, May 2: Men's Breakfast Group will meet at 6:30 a.m.in the fellowship hall.

Grace Years worship service at Canterbury at 3:00.

Cherub Choir will practice at 5:30.

Life Song will practice at 6:30 at the Aters' home.

WellSpring service at 7:30 in the sanctuary.
