MID-WEEK LETTER from Grace United Methodist Church

LAST WEEK:

Corn sales as of close-of-business Wednesday evening: $8685! Jim tells me that the season will be shorter than the past few years; they anticipate being done next Tuesday or Wednesday.

Thanks to all the generous cooks who provided soup for the T.I.M.E.S.

Center. Mary Hackl took 21 gallons to them this morning.

Grace is gearing up for VBS. The children's team and various volunteers have been holding planning meetings, collecting materials (small coffee cans with lids, small oatmeal or salt containers, paper towel or toilet paper tubes), and have started decorating. VBS will be held Sunday, August 5 through Thursday, August 9, from 5:30 to 8:00.

Thursday, July 26: Children's ministry team meeting at 6:30. J.O.Y. sharing group will meet at 7:00 in the parlor.

Friday, July 27: Final Summer Nights at Grace concert: "If It Plays  in Urbana..." featuring Gordy and Gavin Wilson. 7:30. $5/children, $10/adults. Special family rate: $25 per family To benefit the Mills Breast Cancer Institute Music Program at Carle.

 

Sunday, July 29: Grace Years worship service at Parkview in Savoy at 2:00.

Tuesday, July 31: Quilters will meet at 6:30.

 

Wednesday, Aug. 1: Men's Breakfast Group: contact Jim to find out whether you'll be eating breakfast or picking corn!
