MID-WEEK LETTER from Grace United Methodist Church

LAST WEEK:

The first in the series of "Summer Nights at Grace" benefit concerts brought in about 100 people from the community.

Despite the name, this series is not primarily organized or conducted by the church. It is a collaborative effort involving Barbara Hedlund (as main booking agent and head of publicity), members of the C-U Symphony and various other performers, and Gordy (as "facilities manager" and performer).

The beautiful Steinway grand piano in the sanctuary is on loan to us for the duration of the concert series. Several people have asked if Grace had purchased it- the answer is "no", although it actually is for sale.

After necessary expenses are paid, money raised will be given to the Mills Breast Cancer Center at Carle.

 

 

After the publication of the revised phone directory last week, I received the following information: All residents of the Champaign County Nursing Home have a new address. The old address was 1701 East Main. The new address is 500 S. Art Bartell (still 61802).

Thursday, June 28: Children's ministry team will meet at 6:30.

J.O.Y. sharing group will meet at 7:00 in the

parlor.

 

Friday, June 29: * Benefit concert for the Mills Breast Cancer Center. $10 adults, $5 children. Jazz and Big Band Favorites with Cara Maurizi and Gordy Wilson. 7:30 in the sanctuary.

Sunday, July 1 : Grace Years worship service at Parkview in Savoy at 2:00.

Grace Years worship service at Florida House at 4:00.

Tuesday, July 3: Quilters will meet at 6:30.

 

Wednesday, July 4: * The church office will be closed in honor of Independence Day.

Men's Breakfast Group will meet at 6:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall.
