MID-WEEK LETTER from Grace United Methodist Church

FYI:

Rev. Mike will be away on vacation for several days (16th-22nd). I will be taking off the 19th through 23rd, because my kids are off for spring break.

I will be in town, however. If any emergency situations arise, I can be reached at my home (344-6176) or Gordy can be reached at his cell number (778-1473). We each have a list of back-up contacts to cover any critical event that must be dealt with. I will also come in briefly on alternate days to pick up the mail and check phone messages.

Please be sure to let me know if you consider something a "can't wait" item.

You will also notice that the calendar below includes two weeks' worth of events. I will not be sending out an e-mail on March 22.

Life Song will be leading our worship services on Sunday, March 18.

Sunday, April 1: Palm Sunday worship at 8:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.

Thursday, April 5: Maundy Thursday worship at 7:00 p.m.

Friday, April 6: Good Friday worship at First UMC in Champaign at 7:00.

Saturday, April 7: Easter Vigil at 7:00 p.m. Potluck banquet to follow.

Sunday, April 8: Easter sunrise worship at 6:30.

Easter brunch to follow.

Easter morning worship at 9:00.

Thursday, March 15: * Finance Committee meeting was re-scheduled for this evening at 7:00.

Saturday, March 17: * Open House for Bill Fears' 75th birthday, 2:00-4:00 in the fellowship hall. Everyone is invited to stop by.

Sunday, March 18: Grace Years worship service at Parkview in Savoy at 2:00.

* Senior High Youth Fellowship will NOT meet thisevening. Rev. Mike is out-of-town.

Monday, March 19: Growing in Grace rehearsal at 4:00 in the sanctuary.

Tuesday, March 20: * Women who wish to attend the UMW Spring meeting in Rantoul (Saturday, March 31, 9:30 to 2:00) must contact Mary Bauling by this date for reservations (luncheon will be served).

Quilters will meet at 6:30.

Angelus hand bell choir will rehearse at 6:30.

Chancel Choir will rehearse at 7:30.

Wednesday, March 21: Men's Breakfast Group will meet at 6:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall.

Grace years worship service at Canterbury Ridge at 3:00.

* Cherub Choir will NOT practice this evening, due to Spring Break plans.

Life Song will practice at 6:30 at the Aters' home.

WellSpring service at 7:30 in the sanctuary.

Thursday, March 22: Children's ministry team will meet at 6:30. J.O.Y. sharing group will meet at 7:00 in the parlor.

Sunday, March 25: * Bake Sale hosted by the children of Grace.

Proceeds will be donated to Second Harvest, to combat hunger in America. Fellowship hour donations will also be used for this cause.

Grace Years worship service at Parkview at 2:00.

Grace Years worship service at Sunnycrest at 4:00.

College-age Bible study at 5:00.

Senior high youth fellowship will meet at 6:30 in the pastor's study.

Monday, March 26: Growing in Grace will rehearse at 4:00 in the sanctuary.

Tuesday, March 27: Quilters will meet at 6:30.
