MID-WEEK LETTER

Grace United Methodist Church

Our annual Thanksgiving Dinner is coming up on Sunday, November 11.  We will gather at noon in the fellowship hall for a potluck meal and a video celebration of our church’s ministry during the past year.

 

Drinks will be provided.  Please bring dinnerware and a dish to share.  Of course, should you forget anything, don’t let that stop you from coming!  We will have extras on hand.

 

Remember that our charge conference will be held on Wednesday, November 7 at 7:00, right here at Grace.  It is fitting that we will begin the evening in worship, followed by a brief Bible study.  In due time, we will move on to conducting necessary business.  There will be an opportunity for fellowship and refreshments both before and after the gathering.  All members of the church are welcome to join us.

 

Worship totals for the four Sundays in October:   114       114       94         124

(This includes the Youth worship at 10:15.)

 

Of those, the following were visitors:                     4          1        3            9

 

Number of individuals assisting in worship: 43

(This includes acolytes, basket holders, greeters, musicians, readers, sound system operation, ushers, and van drivers.)

FOOD PANTRY NEEDS:  There are no specific shortages at this time.  However, with the holidays approaching and seasonal jobs winding down, there will be increased need in the community in the coming months.  Please feel free to donate anything from breakfast to dessert and everything in-between.

Saturday, Nov. 3:           * Fall Harvest Party at Greg and Robin Styans’.  5:00. Bring lawn chairs

                                       and roasting forks, if you have them.  Please bring your own tableware

                                       and a dish to share.  Hot dogs, buns, drinks and cups will be provided.

                                       RSVP to the Styans ASAP!

 

            * Daylight Savings Time Ends this weekend!  Be sure to set your

                                       clocks BACK one hour before going to bed tonight (if we don’t

                                       see you in worship on Sunday, we’ll know why!)

 

 

Sunday, Nov. 4:               Grace Years worship service at Parkview at 2:00.

 

                                      Grace Years worship service at Florida House at 4:00.

 

 

Monday, Nov. 5:              Grace Years small group at Prairie Winds at 6:30.

 

                                   

Tuesday, Nov. 6:             Quilters will meet at 6:30.

 

                                      Angelus hand bells will hold rehearsal at 6:30 in the music room.

 

                                      Chancel choir will rehearse at 7:30 in the sanctuary.

 

 

Wednesday, Nov. 7:        Men’s Breakfast Group meets at 6:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall.

 

                                      Grace Years worship service at Canterbury at 3:00.

 

                                      The Cherub choir will practice at 5:30 in the sanctuary.

 

                                      Life Song rehearsal will be at 6:30 at the Aters’ home.

 

  * Our charge conference will be held at 7:00 in the sanctuary.

 

 

Thursday, Nov. 8             The XYZs will meet at 10:30 in the fellowship hall for a travelogue of

                                      Greece and Turkey.  Lunch at Papa George’s afterward.  Reservations

                                      are due by Tuesday, Nov. 6.  Call the Stinebrings.

 

                                      J.O.Y. sharing group will meet at 7:00 in the parlor.
