MID-WEEK LETTER from Grace United Methodist Church

LAST WEEK:

Those of you who were in worship with us last Sunday got to see some slides from the first evening of the Philo Road Kids' Fair. You probably didn't know that several of those snapshots were taken by children who attended the fair.

Marilyn Wright was making the rounds with her digital camera and showing the kids the pictures as she took them. Of course, someone was fascinated and asked if she could take a picture. Marilyn didn't miss a beat, she said "sure", and showed her how to do it.

Before you could say "cheese", there was a line of budding photographers waiting for their turn to try it out. They waited patiently, listened to directions, asked others to pose for them, shared the result...

There was a lot of interaction going on there. Another serendipitous moment of connection...

Unfortunately, the storm that blew in last Sunday just before the start of the fair prevented most of the neighborhood kids from participating.

It wasn't a very pleasant evening to be walking anywhere!

This Sunday will be the final session of the Kids' Fair. Let's pray for good weather and God's blessing upon the evening.

Thursday, Sept. 21: * The Mission ministry team will meet at 7:00 (please note that this is a change of date).

Sunday, Sept. 24: Grace Years worship service at Parkview in Savoy at 2:00.

Grace Years worship service at Sunnycrest at 4:00.

* The final session of the Philo Road Kids' Fair,

5:00 to 7:00.

* NO HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH FELLOWSHIP MEETING TONIGHT.

Monday, Sept. 25: * Growing in Grace has changed its rehearsal time.

They now meet at 4:00 in the sanctuary.

* Please note that there will NOT be a Stewardship team meeting this evening. It has been rescheduled for Monday, October 2 at 7:00.

Tuesday, Sept. 26: Angelus hand bells practice at 6:30 in the music room.

Quilters will meet at 6:30.

Chancel Choir rehearsal at 7:30 in the sanctuary.

Wednesday, Sept. 27: The Men's Breakfast Group will meet at 6:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

The Cherubs will practice at 5:30 in the sanctuary.

Life Song will rehearse at 6:30 at the Aters' home.

WellSpring service will begin at 7:30 in the sanctuary.

Thursday, Sept. 28: Women's sharing group will meet at 7:00 in the parlor.
