MID-WEEK LETTER FROM THE PASTOR Grace United Methodist Church October 11, 2007
The days are busy around the church: it is time to pick the popcorn from our field. And it is the week of the annual United Methodist Women’s Bazaar. The Bazaar will be held this Saturday from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.
As we are busy with many things these days, it is a good time to remember the essence of our church life. The MAIN thing can get lost in all our other busyness. At the core of every church are the following seven things:
Pray for Grace Church, that we will be God’s church—and on our watch—we will devote ourselves to the church’s true mission and purpose. ____________
FOOD PANTRY NEEDS: Jelly, Tuna, Fruit ____________
FINANCIAL UPDATE: to date, we have had:
Income of $160,555 Expenses of $169,304 ____________
THE CALENDAR: (Please note especially items marked with an asterisk.)
Thursday, Oct. 11: Donations for the Fall Festival may be dropped off today, 9:00-8:00; or tomorrow, 9:00 to 7:00. Please pre-price your items.
Saturday, Oct. 13: UMW Fall Festival 8:00 to 2:00.
Sunday, Oct. 14: Fall Festival items (including baked goods!) are available in the fellowship hall after worship service this morning.
Grace Years worship service at Parkview at 2:00
Monday, Oct. 15: Grace Years small group at Prairie Winds at 6:30.
Tuesday, Oct. 16: Quilters will meet at 6:30.
Angelus hand bells will hold rehearsal at 6:30 in the music room.
Chancel choir will rehearse at 7:30 in the sanctuary.
Wednesday, Oct. 17: Men’s Breakfast Group meets at 6:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall.
Grace Years worship service at Canterbury at 3:00.
The Cherub choir will practice at 5:30 in the sanctuary.
Life Song rehearsal will be at 6:30 at the Aters’ home.
The last session of the seminar on healing will take place in the Seekers Sunday school room at 7:00. All interested parties are welcome.
