Luis Garcia, our missionary from Chile will be our guest of honor at a potluck here at the church at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, September 4th. He will then join us at the Wellspring Service at 7:30 pm.

The Garcias replaced Stan and Beryl Moore, who recently retired.

Choir Practice to begin:

The Chancel Choir has started practicing on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm.

The Cherub Choir (beginning at age 4) begins practice on Wednesday, August 28th at 6:30 pm.

The Angelus Handbell Choir will begin practice on Monday, August 26th at 7:30 pm.

The Youth Bell Choir will begin soon, watch for that date to be announced.

Joys and Concerns from last Sunday and some new ones also

A joy for the good season of Softball and to thank Todd for being a great coach/manager.

Richard King, joy that Ben had a great week at Jensen Woods and the church league softball season was great fun and Todd was a great organizer at it.

Todd Searing, joy for an enjoyable softball season and all the new and old friends involved. Although both teams are now done, the men did have an 18-0 win on Friday.

Todd and Lisa Searing, joy for the time of fellowship on Saturday evening with church friends.

Karen Henderson, joy for Gordy’s beautiful prelude and the way he continues to bless us with his music.

Marty Rosenbery, joy for God’s care and direction for my daughter Karen and making the way for her to start college this fall. A concern for myself - undiagnosed health problems, for my mother having more problems lately and for my Aunt Marge who will have treatment for an aneurysm.

June Schwartz, joy for the exciting opportunities that lay ahead of son "Dan" as he enters first year at Western Illinois. A concern for guidance for Dan’s spiritual and physical well being.

Matt Peters, joy that friend Jay made it back safely from summer in Mexico. Concern for friend Amy Bell, she’s going on staff for Intervarsity and needs prayer for fund-raising.

Concern and prayers needed for Mildred DuBuois who is in the Carle Hosp. Also Marie Wright at Florida House is in need of our prayers.

Jop Long prayers for her husband, Paul, who broke his leg last week and is going through terrible pain.

Laura Christman, concern for job situation, that she may get the position she interviewed for and also concern for travel safety for Olive & Linda as they travel to their new home.

Truman & Pat concern for daughter Liz who is having job difficulties.

Jeannie Barnett, concern for mother, Shirley Lovenguth who had to start Chemotherapy again, she has a rough time with it and it makes her very sick.

Bill & Joy Valentine, concern for friends, Opal Glidewell and Tom Veitch who have had strokes.

Nancy Welch, concern for grand-daughter, Karsyn, for correct treatment and healing, she has been to doctor 3 times in 3 days.

Christine Apperson, concern for sister who fell and has a bad leg injury that required several stitches.

Ina Wooldridge, concern for grandson preparing to go to college this month.

Faye Hutts, concern for friend who fell and cracked a vertebrae in two places

Bob deJong will be going in for shoulder surgery on Monday, August 19th.

Janet Fredrick has been in Carle Hospital, she is having blood clot problem, also keep her mother in your prayers she has suffered strokes this past week.

As we praise God for our joys and answered prayers, we continue lifting those up who are still in need of our prayers, those that are recovering from surgery, facing new surgery, and those that are grieving or ill.
