    Luis Garcia, our missionary from Chile will be our guest of honor at a potluck here at the church at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, September 4th. He will then join us at the Wellspring Service at 7:30 pm. Please come and show your support for the Garcias.

    United Methodist Women

    The UMW will meet Saturday, Sept. 7 at 9:30 a.m. Donna Hoeflinger will present a program on personal safety and self-defense. We hope you will join us for this informative program. We will be meeting in the Seekers Sunday School room. Everyone is welcome.

      Joys and Concerns from last Sunday

    Norma Ripkey is thankful for her guest this weekend, Glenda from Iowa, and the joy her friendship brings and prayer for her safe return trip.

    Mary Bradley joy in having Janet Fredrick up & out of the hospital and concern for her oldest son, Clarence, who is having serious medical problems & taking test to see what is wrong. She is taking trip to Texas & wishes to be kept in prayer & safe trip.

    Janet Fredrick joy for the prayers while she was in the hospital. She is doing much better now. Concern for her aunt, Opal Glidewell & mother, Edith Wade, both have serious health problems.

    Georgia Hillery concern for her sister, Mildred Wold, who has a tumor on her spine. Will know Monday about the biopsy taken last Wed. Please keep her in your prayers.

    Joy & Bill Valentine concern for their daughter, Diane, as she copes with poison ivy.

    Janice Roy joy that her father got married this past week.

    Ellen Fondren joy for her 40th wedding anniversary & concern for travel over Labor Day.

    Margaret Tsiang concern for travel to Kentucky over Labor Day weekend with a daughter’s family.

    Doug Bauling concern that Mary is still weak and in considerable pain, but improving.

    Gary & Audrey Ricketts concern for son, John & Anna Ricketts & family and easing of pain in Bob deJong’s shoulder.

    Beth Morgan’s joy for the help of other’s and learning about the fibromyalgia she has been dealing with and concern for healing of pain and fatigue from the condition.

    Richard King’s joy in seeing the large number of youth involved in our church yesterday. We had 8 - 4th graders go bowling and lots of youth going on the youth trip.

    Alan & Kay Weidert concern over daughter-in-law, Tammy, who broke her arm on Tuesday. She is recuperating at home.

    Luann Wiedenmann joy for the possibilities of a new school year.

    Todd & Lisa Searing joy for the safe & enjoyed trip by youth group yesterday & for Todd’s new nickname.

    Lisa joy for Callie’s song this morning & the memories it brings and joy & concern for her dad who is finally having surgery tomorrow.

    Karen & Callie Knight joy for Emily being a part of their family for 15 years today.

    Martha Rosenbery joy for safe travel and a joyful visit with her Aunt Marge and concern for her Aunt Marge as she has a procedure to treat an aneurysm on Thursday. She asks for God’s protection & healing for her.

    Laura Christman concern for the family of Heidi Schilson, a young woman who passed away Saturday.

    Linda Entwistle joy that Eli is enjoying his piano lessons with Gordon & that he is playing in church today for the first time.

    Eli & Kyra Entwistle joy that Grandma Ary is spending the weekend with us, and is here at church this morning & also, Kyra thanks her summer Sunday School teacher - Jill King, Mindy Smith Karen Knight.

    Jill King joy for being able to teach K-3 this summer with a great group of young people. For the great time we had yesterday with the 4 & 5 grades at the Bowling alley. She is looking forward to these grades this year. Concern for Ali’s health - flu today.

    We praise God for our joys and answered prayers, we continue lifting those up who are still in need of our prayers, those that are recovering from surgery, facing new surgery, and those that are grieving or ill.

    Diabetic Supplies

    Judy Wright (344-2467) has some diabetic supplies (never used) that she would like to give to someone that can use them.

    XYZ’s to the Timbers

    We will leave the church at 10:30 a.m. on Sept. 12 to go to the "Timbers" where they have a lodge, trail rides, nature walks, and you can also feed the catfish. Some of our group have been there before and have had buggy rides, also. It’s a beautiful atmosphere. Come join us for a relaxing fun day. We have the best chauffeur around!!

    The restaurant food is superb. Call your reservation in to the Huberts no later than Monday, September 9 at 367-6395. If no answer, please leave a message on the recorder.

    Attention Angelus Handbell Choir:

    Please stop by the church office and pick up your new bell music. You can mark it, if need be, before you come to practice this Monday evening!
